Often, but not always, the opposite leaves hang down. Its leaves are stalked, have serrated leaf margins, and are a grey-green color.

Also known as late boneset, this plant grows to be 5′ tall or taller and is pictured below in the upland set aside area along Oslo Road at the Audubon House.
