Drought is a difficult term to define, but we all know it when we see it. Pictured above is the mosquito control impoundment once overlooked by the tall Observation Tower at the Oslo Riverfront Conservation Area in February of 2009. From 11/2008 to 4/2009 was the second driest period on record for south Florida.
Check out the Florida Climate Center to learn more about how different kinds of droughts are defined and where drought conditions are located in Florida and in the U.S. Let’s hope for rain!
