Barrier Island Sanctuary

Karen Schuster not only led a wonderful nature walk at the Brevard Barrier Island Sanctuary and Education Center. At the same time she took the photos shown here!

Pictured above is coralbean (Erythrina herbacaea) which was flowering fabulously and profusely.

She even managed to ‘capture’ a southern white butterfly (Ascia monuste) on common beggars ticks (Bidens alba).

Two late-instar gulf fritillary larvae (Agraulis vanillae) posed on corky-stemmed passionflower vine (Passiflora suberosa) …

And, the gumbo limbos (Bursera simourba) were gargantuan and gorgeous!
